Sam’s Chicken A new fast-food restaurant could be set to takeover a now empty shop building. Plans have been submitted an application to change the use of 119 High Street, in Southend, from retail to restaurant.
A MAN was stamped on by robbers as he tried to stop them stealing his £1,800 mountain bike. Essex Police have launched a witness appeal after the robbery in the middle of the day in Southend High Street. The victim, a man aged in his 30s, had left a blue BMW mountain bike outside JD Sports on Monday at about 3.45pm. He then noticed two young males standing around the bike. A spokesman for the police said: When he returned to the bike to challenge them, a fight broke out and the victim was assaulted and was stamped on by the attackers.
