Here are a few things we’d let our horses off the hook for, but would probably use as an opportunity to teach our children a life lesson or two… 1. Barging past you  A clear sign of a lack of respect, but you will pretend you didn’t notice if your horse shoves you out of the way to get out of the stable on a morning. He’s just excited for a new day. You totally do have control over him and if you wanted him to let you go first you totally could. However, this level of rudeness would not be tolerated back at home. 

How to prepare ahead of Evansville, Henderson freeze warning Tuesday

EVANSVILLE, Ind.  Residents in and around Evansville and Henderson have not said goodbye to winter weather for good, with another round of mixed precipitation and cold air expected Tuesday night into early Wednesday. The National Weather Service in Paducah, Kentucky, has issued a freeze warning for the area. Meteorologist Pat Spoden said rain will move in near the Wabash River around 6 or 7 p.m. Tuesday. The rain may mix with some snow before the system moves out of the area after midnight, and temperatures will drop to around freezing tonight. Spoden said meteorologists are not expecting much accumulation, but warned locals to take precautions ahead of the cold air that will move in behind the system.

I think one of my memories of him, one of his last presentations, was to a young person who - I think at that stage the Duke was either 95 or 96 - and the young person described him as cool, said Kate Thompson, the director of the Duke of Edinburgh Award in Northern Ireland.
