► Pop-up clinic: 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, Abilene Convention Center (one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine).
The Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District on Wednesday reported two new cases of COVID-19 and five recoveries.
In addition, the city reported 15 COVID-19 inpatients at Abilene hospitals, two more than Tuesday. A week ago, inpatients totaled 10.
Of the two new cases, one was confirmed by a polymerase chain reaction test.
Active cases total 139 (58 PCR cases and 81 confirmed via antigen tests). A week ago, active cases numbered 148.
The percentage of COVID-19 inpatients in the Abilene trauma service area was 1.44% Tuesday, virtually unchanged since Sunday, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services COVID-19 website.
