Ronald Allen Jones, loved the water

December 22, 2020 Ronald Allen Jones, “Ronnie,” “Digger” “Digs,” whatever it is one may have called him, they did so with great affection, died Nov. 6, 2020. He was born Feb. 5, 1932, in Snow Hill, Md., to Richard Alda Jones and Mildred Cathryn Davis Jones. Digger grew up working on his family farm. It was in those formative years where he honed his leadership, entrepreneurial and creative skills. At 17, Digger joined the Air Force and then utilizing the GI Bill, he attended the University of Maryland in College Park from 1952-56. As a student, he joined Alpha Gamma Rho and eventually became its president. Upon graduation, Digger was hired to work at Scotts Lawn Care Products to sell grass seed and fertilizers but quickly decided he could do this on his own. Potential clients quickly lined up and Digger never looked back.
