The first day of a Seneca County grand jury relating to the Cayuga Nation Police Department has officially ended, but it took 409-days for any sort of government to formally address the violent conflict in a court of law or any public forum for that matter.
Ironically, however, that first forum was a grand jury that started on Tuesday, April 13.

The Village of Gibsonburg is reaching something of a 150th birthday this year.
Although the village wasn’t incorporated until 1880, the village’s namesake, W. H. Gibson, and T.D. Stevenson and J. F. Yeasting platted and named the community in August 1871.
Gibson was a brevetted brigadier general of the Union Army’s 49th volunteer infantry during the Civil War.
The 10th of 11 children to John and Jeannette Coe Gibson, he basically was a lifetime resident of Seneca County, having moved there with his family at the age of 4 months after his father had purchased 320 acres from the federal government.

There are a pair of vaccine clinics coming to Seneca County in the next few days.
The first will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, April 15 at the Seneca County Health Department.
