Petco Love is a nonprofit leading change for pets nationally by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger and healthier. Since their founding in 1999, as the Petco Foundation, they ve empowered organizations with nearly $300 million invested to date in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And, they ve helped find loving homes for more than 6.5 million pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations, like ours, nationwide.

At Charleston Animal Society’s 147th annual meeting on Sunday they announced its statewide “No Kill South Carolina” initiative now has a timeline and has been renamed “No Kill South Carolina 2024.” Officials say the initiative is funded through a grant from the Petco Foundation. The foundation says with the goal in sight it’s making a $1 million challenge. “If the organizations in South Carolina work together and achieve the goal of No Kill South Carolina by 2024 – the Petco Foundation will invest $1 million in the lifesaving work of organizations across South Carolina,” said Petco Foundation President Susanne Kogut. “These funds can be used to sustain No Kill South Carolina!”
