The 56th annual general meeting of shareholders of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) was held on Thursday which approved Annual Accounts for the FY 2019-20 with profit after tax of Rs5,998 million translating into Earning Per Share (EPS) of Rs9.46.
The shareholders also approved Cash Dividend of 40pc i.e. Rs4.0 per share on the recommendations of the Board of Directors of the SNGPL, said a press release. Moreover, the shareholders re-appointed M/s Yousaf Adil, Chartered Accountant as Auditors for FY 2020-21.
The chairperson, Roohi Raees Khan, informed the shareholders that despite numerous economic and financial challenges, the SNGPL remained focused on yielding good results under the wise guidance of the board of directors along with consistent efforts of the management and staff. She added that the company declared the dividend for the third consecutive year.

JHANG: Rescue 1122 divers on Sunday found another body of a man while efforts were underway to recover the remaining six people whose boat overturned in River Chenab near Bhowana Bridge on Saturday. Media Coordinator Ahmad Shoaib told The News that nine rescuers/divers from Jhang had also reached Bhowana to complete the operation.
PRIMARY SCHOOLS UPGRADED: The School Education Department has upgraded 167 girls and 77 boys primary schools to the elementary level in the district. District Education Officer Women Mrs Abida Maqbool said that the School Education Department had approved the upgradation of 244 boys and girls primary schools in the district to the elementary schools level without utilising extra budget.

ISLAMABAD: Amid system challenges, the Petroleum Division is seeking an average national basket price for natural gas both local and imported through a distant ‘political consensus’ even though it has fixed price commitments with various consumer groups.

The federal government has been asking the provinces for introduction of weighted average cost of gas (WACOG) by moving away from ring-fenced pricing and supply of local gas and imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) to various consumer categories.
