Siemens Gamesa’s largest offshore agreement in Taiwan to date now covers the Hai Long 2B (232 MW) and Hai Long 3 (512 MW) projects. The preferred supplier agreement for Hai Long 2A (300 MW) was announced on November 13, 2019.
Flagship SG 14-222 DD offshore wind turbines and service for the full volume of the project are included in the preferred supplier agreement. The agreement remains subject to contract and final investment decision from Hai Long consortium partners, Canadian independent power producer Northland Power Inc. and Taiwan-based developer Yushan Energy Co., Ltd., jointly owned by Mitsui & Co., Ltd. in Japan and Yushan Energy Pte., Ltd. in Singapore. This is expected in 2022.

SGRE Turbines Tabbed for French Offshore Wind Project
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) announced it was awarded the firm order from the EDF Renewables-Enbridge-wpd consortium for the 448-MW Courseulles-sur-Mer offshore wind power project. The installation will be located just more than 6 miles off the Bessin coast, in an area of Normandy, France.
SGRE on Feb. 22 said the wind turbine nacelles and blades for the Courseulles-sur-Mer project are scheduled to be produced at a Siemens Gamesa manufacturing plant being built in Le Havre, a port city in Normandy, where the English Channel meets the Seine River.

The order brings the total capacity awarded to Siemens Gamesa by the consortium in France to approximately 1 GW. Both the wind turbine nacelles and blades for the Courseulles-sur-Mer project are scheduled to be produced at the Siemens Gamesa facility currently under construction in Le Havre.
The 448 MW project will rely upon the stable technology of the SWT-7.0-154 Direct Drive offshore wind turbine, a part of the world’s most installed offshore turbine fleet. Installation and commissioning of the Courseulles-sur-Mer project is scheduled for 2024.
Together with the 497 MW Fécamp offshore wind power project signed with the EDF Renewables-Enbridge-wpd consortium in 2020, Siemens Gamesa has now signed firm orders with them for approximately 1 GW.
