Donnette was diagnosed with bowel cancer and was treated at Bolton Hospice A DAUGHTER is set to show her support for Bolton Hospice who cared for her mum by doing a zip wire challenge in her memory. Donnette Foster was sadly diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer in 2017, and spent the final months of her life surrounded by her loving family at Bolton hospice, including her then 16-year-old daughter Letisha. She said: “Bolton Hospice is an amazing place, they did absolutely everything they could to make sure my mum was cared and respected. The place was so clean and tranquil, after a year of pain my mum finally felt at ease. She never wanted for anything in there, every need was met by the most polite nurses and they all made sure the family felt welcome. She absolutely loved the garden area, we would sit and talk for ages at what she called ‘her little harbour’. She spent her 57th birthday in there, they brought in a hairdresser and we spent the day doing crafts togethe

Before its closure in 2008, Tower Colliery in Hirwaun was the oldest continuously working deep coal mine in the UK. It was threatened with closure in the 1990s, before the miners stepped in to buy it. One of the miners who used to work there said this regeneration of the site will ensure the legacy of the Tower , and what the men did in buying it, is remembered.
