THERE was pandemonium at Chiredzi General Hospital Sunday night when a crocodile mysteriously crept into a male ward and spent the night among patients.
Officials believe the two-metre reptile used the flooded poor drainage system to swim all the way to the hospital before seeking refuge inside the medical facility.
Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife (Zimparks) rangers rescued the deadly animal Monday morning after panicky patients rang the alarm bell.
However, the incident was followed by superstitious claims one of the male patients admitted in the ward was using juju.
Despite crocodiles having been reported to have invaded Tshovani suburb after heavy rains that pounded Chiredzi in the past few days, residents suspect one of the male patients might be using juju.

A local tourist from Harare slipped and plunged to his death at the Victoria Falls gorge on New Year’s Day after a day out with a friend, the Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Management confirmed.
The victim, identified as Roy George Tinashe Dikinya (40), was reportedly in the company of a female friend as they took turns to take pictures when tragedy struck, sources said.
“They were walking through the points taking turns shooting pictures and when they reached the danger zone, we suspect that he slipped and fell,” a tourist said.
“We were alerted by the woman’s screams. she told us that he had slipped and fallen. Because of the showers and the mist, we could not see anything down below, and that’s when we went to alert the parks officials.”

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has thrown his “niece”,
Shantel Chikafu, under the bus after she was arrested for abusing his name in a
messy mine ownership wrangle in which she ejected John Maungwa from a Shamva
mine.
Chikafu has allegedly been masquerading as President
Mnangagwa’s daughter in conducting illicit deals, including defrauding a bank
of US$37 000.
However, her arrest followed a meeting held on Thursday in
Bindura to resolve the bitter mining wrangle with Maungwa where she reportedly
told some Mines ministry officials that she was given a special grant to mine
in Umfurudzi Game Park, including at Maungwa’s Wickman 23 Mine by the
