The Forum is a coalition comprising of 21 non-governmental human rights groups in the country.
It encompasses reports gathered nationally by the Zimbabwe Peace Project (ZPP), the Counselling Service Unit (CSU) and the Zimbabwe Association of Doctors for Human Rights.
In a report released this week, the Forum said there was need for the government to respond urgently and deal with the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The Forum remains deeply concerned with the continued defiance of Covid-19 regulations by citizens amidst evidence of increasing cases of the virus. In light of the above, the Forum reiterates the need for effective and meaningful strategies by the government to respond to and to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic,” it said in its report.

Zimbabwe’s information secretary has torched a Twitter storm following his claims insinuating that some doctors in Zimbabwe are using COVID-19 to kill certain hospitalized political players.
Responding to a tweet by a person that has since deleted his Twitter account, who claimed that there are some doctors said to be killing some political players, Mangwana noted that people are talking about such issues.
“This is what’s leading to the unfortunate conspiracy theory that there are certain political players being eliminated in hospitals by political activists hiding behind medical qualifications. In fact not just political players but medical assassins.”
THE Zimbabwe Association of Doctors for Human Rights (ZADHR) has released the statement below accusing the government of harassing doctors.
This comes after a medical doctor claimed Sunday on social media that he and his colleagues were killing off certain politicians admitted with COVID-19 symptoms.
The dramatic fallout led to Information Ministry Permanent Secretary Nick Mangwana saying some doctors were now weaponizing COVID-19, taking the chance to “kill” certain political players who will be hospitalized.
The culprit doctor has since deleted his social media account. Read the following statement by ZADHR:
