The Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP s quarterly report will be presented to Vernon city council today, May 10, by detachment commander Supt. Shawna Baher. It shows there were 4,470 calls for service in Vernon and Coldstream. That’s a 3.6 per cent decrease from last year. Criminal Code offences were down 16.3 per cent to 1,284. Police forwarded 435 charges to Vernon Crown counsel, up from 425 the year before. It dealt with 288 prisoners, down from 392 the year before and opened 272 files on street entrenched people, down from 355 the year before.
