Hello everyone and welcome to my 2020 Year End MMA Awards. I’m Robert Winfree, and since once again this seems like a good idea I’m handing out mostly non-existent awards in the world of MMA. Ian McCall Memorial Worst Luck Award Leon Edwards Let’s be clear, a lot of fighters had some awful luck in 2020. Heck, the vast majority of humanity had some pretty bad luck in 2020. So trying to figure out the recipient for this somewhat infamous award was a bit difficult, and there were plenty of viable choices but ultimately I landed on Leon Edwards. Coming into 2019 Edwards was a top contender in the very deep welterweight division, he was on a great eight fight winning streak that included wins over notable names like Vicente Luque, Donald Cerrone, and former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos.
