2 killed, 1 injured in Chandpur train accidents in 24 hours

Two people were killed and one was injured in separate accidents in Chandpur when hit by Sagarika Express train over 24 hours. The deceased were identified as Mehedi Hasan (28), of Sheikh Bazar in Chandpur, and a mentally unwell Zahirul Islam (55), said our correspondent.

The deceased has been identified as Gangadhar Behera (30) of Sheikh Bazaar of the city. He had been to Safa village under Tangi police station of Cuttack (Rural) police district on Wednesday afternoon. Gangadhar s family members allege that he was set on fire by some miscreants, who might have looted his motorcycle, wallet and a gold chain he was wearing.
