Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival opens today 19 May 2021 Jamil Khan, Senior Reporter The much-anticipated Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival (SCRF) is finally here to thrill, educate and entertain children and young adults of all ages. The 12th edition of the region’s largest literary and cultural event for children will open tomorrow, May 19 (Wednesday), at Expo Centre Sharjah. Held under the patronage of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, the annual extravaganza attracts a large number of children’s participation in the highly popular interactive sessions organised throughout the 11-day festival.

Continuing its tradition of celebrating the spirit of dialogue during the holy month of Ramadan, Sharjah Ramadan Majlis launched its forth session on Wednesday ( 28 April), under the title “ Culture and building youth’s awareness”, aimed at turning spotlight on the role of culture in promoting youth’s awareness. Hosted by Sharjah Press Club of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, the fourth session of the immensely ongoing popular event was headlined by Sheikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities; Rashid Mohammed Al Kous, Executive Director of Emirates Publishers Association.
