MOH asked to speed up vaccinations
Kuwait is stepping up vaccination efforts with a new consignment (third shipment) of AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine expected to arrive tomorrow (Wednesday) even as Pfizer vaccination batches continue to arrive weekly Arabic daily Al Rai reported.
The campaigns for vaccinating workers in cooperative societies, estimated at 30,000, is also expected to be completed tomorrow (Wednesday), as also the completion of the vaccination of about 5,000 imams and muezzins, through the 10 mobile units in various governorates.
The number of those vaccinated has touched 800,000 even though daily infection figures are gradully stabilising, the ministry of health is sparing no efforts to bring the numbers down by increasing vaccinations and implementing strict protocols that avoid gatherings as well as introducing a partial curfew in the country since more than a month.

KUWAIT CITY, April 13: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Hamad Al-Jaber assigned ranks to a group of new officers after the Amiri Decree was issued to enlist them in the Kuwait Army. Speaking on the occasion Sheikh Hamad Al-Jaber congratulated the new officers and for having obtained the confidence of His Highness, the Amir, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad, on their enlisting as officers in the army. He called on the new officers to preserve their oath and work with all sincerity and devotion to serve the nation, protect its interests and make security and defense of the nation their topmost priority.
