I am a member of the PTI and will remain so, says Jahangir Tareen. I was a friend. Why am I being pushed towards enmity? wonders the estranged PTI leader.
Says he is seeking justice from the Tehreek-e-Insaf.
LAHORE: Estranged PTI leader Jahangir Tareen said Wednesday that his loyalty to Prime Minister Imran Khan was being tested, but that he is not parting ways with the PTI.
Tareen was speaking to the media after he arrived at the banking court to attend his bail hearing. Not one, not two but three FIRs have been registered against me, he said.

Former secretary general of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and sugar baron Jahangir Tareen, who is facing money laundering and fraud charges in the sugar scam, is said to have been exploring other political options to stay relevant in the current scenario.
As the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday summoned Mr Tareen and his son Ali Tareen in connection with the sugar scam for April 9, Pakistan Peoples Party’s senior leader Syeda Shehla Raza claimed that a meeting between PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Jahangir Tareen had been scheduled for next week.

PTI estranged leader Jahangir Tareen will meet former president and PPP supremo Asif Ali Zardari in Karachi next week and may leave the PTI to join PPP, Shehla Raza said on Tuesday.
The PPP leader said Tareen had met Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmood, following which he will meet the former president in the port city. “I think he will leave PTI and join PPP along with his aides during the meeting,” she said. “If such a thing happens, neither will Buzdar [remain in government], nor will Niazi,” she added.
However, Jahangir Tareen refuted reports of his alleged meetings with PPP leaders aimed at joining the latter in a bid to send his party’s governments in Punjab and Centre packing. “There is no truth in reports about me meeting with PPP leaders or joining the PPP,” he said. “Those running fabricated stories against me will face disappointment,” he asserted.
The duo is facing allegations of fraudulently misappropriating shareholders money and involvement in money laundering. PTI’s top leadership should take this initiative now to unmask such elements, he added. Is your case so week that you had to use media for conducting my trial, he asked.
“It is regrettable that we are here seeking justice from Tehreek-e-Insaf,” he remarked.
Earlier, Tareen approached the court along with provincial ministers and MPAs of PTI, who pledged to support him.
Raja Raiz, provincial minister Numan Langrial, Lala Muhammad, MPA Tahir Randhawa and several others PTI lawmakers were present on the occasion.
Talking to media person, Raja Riaz advised Prime Minister Imran Khan to not lose a friend like Tareen as he had a role in forming the government.
