Funding of up to £40m could be available in Newark and Sherwood towards major regeneration and improvement schemes.
Among the projects that could benefit from the funding is the Newark southern link road.
Members of Newark and Sherwood District Councilâs economic development committee were told the money was available through a series of schemes.

Like the recent successful Towns Fund bid for £25m of government funding, the council will put forward projects for the money.
The councilâs director of growth and regeneration Matt Lamb : âI genuinely believe this is a real opportunity for the district to show we can deliver and be successful.â
Newark and Sherwood District Council planning for tourism boom in summer of staycations

A council is preparing for a summer of staycations as Brits face a fine for flying out of the country.
Newark and Sherwood District Councilâs tourism business manager Richard Huthwaite outlined plans to support the tourism and hospitality sector.
He said the support would be in four main pillars Ââ relationship building with sector partners/stakeholders, destination development, destination marketing and visitor insight, knowledge and research.
