A new audio series is unearthing the disturbing details of a Battersea haunting. BBC Radio 4’s investigative podcast tells the story behind “Britain’s strangest haunting,” which occurred in the 1950s at a family house in Wycliffe Road. Danny Robins presents the case of a mysterious poltergeist that plagued the residents of Number 63 for a period of 12 years. From March 1956 the Hitchings family noticed banging noises, flying objects, scrawled notes and many other strange goings-on in their terraced house. The real-life ghost story became a major news story at the time and was mentioned in the Houses of Parliament.
