Former Calcasieu Parish deputy arrested for indecent behavior with a juvenile

A former Calcasieu Parish Sheriff s deputy has been arrested following a complaint in reference to indecent behavior with a juvenile.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriffâs Office says detectives began an investigation on May 1.
42-year-old deputy James C. Trahan of Moss Bluff was arrested on May 2 and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on a charge of indecent behavior with a juvenile.
His bond is set at $450,000.
Prior to being terminated by Sheriff Tony Mancuso on Sunday, Trahan had worked as a correctional officer at the Calcasieu Correctional Center and had been with the department for approximately 15 years.
On Saturday, May 1, 2021, Calcasieu Parish Sheriffâs Office Detectives began an investigation on Deputy James C. Trahan, 42, Moss Bluff, after receiving a complaint in reference to indecent behavior with a juvenile.
During the investigation the victim advised detectives that Trahan had been inappropriately touching her since the age of 6.
Trahan was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center yesterday and charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $450,000.

School Closures
McNeese State University course instruction will be online Monday, but th campus will officially reopen on Tuesday, Feb. 23. Offices and the library will open at 7:30 a.m. and resume normal hours.

Trash Pickup
City of Lake Charles garbage collection has resumed. Thursday and Friday routes will be collected on Saturday, February 20. Every effort will be made to collect all of Friday’s normal pickups on Saturday, however, if crews are unable to complete the route, they will do a makeup pass on Monday, February 22.
