Employee exodus in county clerk s office investigated

The Cache County human resources department is conducting an investigation into the exodus of five permanent female workers from the county clerk’s office since the beginning of 2021. The Herald Journal also learned this week that disruption in the clerk’s office prompted a group of employees in other offices to approach the county administration with concerns about job security when new officials are elected. County Executive David Zook said he requested the investigation in response to two written complaints lodged with the county administration along with his own concerns about high turnover in the office since Jess Bradfield took over as clerk last September following the mid-term departure of Jill Zollinger.

Bloomingdale High School teacher arrested for unlawful sexual relationship with student By FOX 13 News Staff Published  Courtesy: Hillsborough County Sheriff s Office BRANDON, Fla. - Alberto Rivera Claudio, 46, a teacher at Bloomingdale High School, has been arrest on 12 counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor after deputies say he had an unlawful sexual relationship with a student for more than a year. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, he was known as Mr. Rivera to his students and was the victim’s Spanish teacher at one point. Educators have the responsibility to teach their students right from wrong, but this suspect didn t seem to understand the difference himself, said Sheriff Chad Chronister. As parents, we place trust in teachers to not only educate our children with the skills and knowledge they ll need in the future but also to be good role models for them. This suspect will face the consequences for his wrongful actions.

CARROLLWOOD, Fla. - Hillsborough County deputies have arrested Dakota Schroeder, 21, and are searching for another suspect after they say two men burglarized a Carrollwood home by gaining access with a garage door opener found inside an unlocked truck in the driveway.  It happened around 2:30 a.m. on April 28 on Roundup Drive. Deputies say Schroeder was alone when he entered the victim’s truck and found the garage door opener. After using it to get inside the home, he rummaged around inside while a couple slept in their bed, according to HCSO. He stole an xBox, PS4, a television and money before fleeing in the victim’s truck.

The memorial service returned with a new name this year after the annual ceremony was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic. Family members of Sgt. Brian LaVigne helped unveil his name on the agency’s Fallen Heroes Memorial. LaVigne was struck and killed by Travis Garrett, who was attempting to escape arrest on January 11. “I’m hopeful that ceremonies like this will help bring even just a semblance of comfort to the families of our fallen heroes,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Reminding them that their fallen hero will be remembered forever.”

According to the FBI, an estimated 460,000 children are reported missing every year in the United States. In those situations, it is critical to get information to law enforcement as quickly as possible. Through the online registration program HCSO K.ID (Kid Identification), parents and legal guardians will be able to register their child’s information with the Hillsborough County Sheriff s Office. A photo of the child is required, along with a detailed physical description of the child.
