A Eureka woman wanted in connection to an Elk River burglary last month has been taken into custody.
On Jan. 31, 2021, at about 1 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 9000 block of Elk River Road near Eureka for the report of a burglary.
The victims told deputies that sometime between 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. that day, an unknown number of suspects reportedly entered the residence without permission, stealing electronics and jewelry. A nearby neighbor reportedly witnessed a suspicious vehicle near the residence during this timeframe and was able to provide deputies with a specific, identifying description of the vehicle.

On Feb. 13, 2021, at about 12:35 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a business on the 22,800 block of State Highway 96 for the report of a gunshot victim that had just arrived at the location.
Deputies arrived on scene and located a 32-year-old male with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. Upon further investigation, deputies learned that the shooting occurred at a property on Upper Cappell Road near Weitchpec. According to witnesses, the suspects reportedly followed the victim to the Upper Cappell Road property and confronted him for reasons still under investigation. An a
