While urging those seeking elective posts to be truthful about their past two years ago, ex-Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko revealed his criminal past.
“So many leaders are afraid to tell their truths, thinking Kenyans will hate them. Present yourself to Kenyans the way you are, they will either vote for or reject you,” said Sonko.
While claiming that leadership runs in his blood, Sonko revealed the different leadership positions he’s held, including stints at three prisons.

The question rent in the air at Kahawa Law Courts as Magistrate Diana Mochache surged from her seat and quickly gazed at former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko as he slumped in the dock.
Sonko’s lawyers pleaded with the court to allow doctors to treat him first before hearing an application to hold him for 30 days to allow for investigation of terror claims against him.
“The governor is not fit to have the application heard today, we urge you to adjourn the hearing. It would be better that the governor goes through the procedure, there is no hurry,” lawyer John Khaminwa pleaded.

Update: Mike Sonko was reportedly taken to court via a hospital ambulance after he was admitted on Tuesday morning, February 9. His lawyer, Cliff Ombeta told

He added that said that the ambulance was equipped with a doctor and a nurse who took care of the former governor. The equipment therein were also capable of handling whatever medical issues that would arise. He alleged that Sonko suffered from high blood pressure.
DCI detectives claimed that Sonko’s condition was not critical enough to force the court to suspend his hearing.
