A 65-year-old Pakistani woman, residing in Uttar Pradesh s Etah district for the past 35 years has landed in trouble after she took up the post of officiating village head and her credentials were disclosed.
Bano Begum came to India from Karachi, Pakistan, to be a part of the wedding of one of her relatives in the Etah district never to go back. She tied the knot with one Akhtar Ali and has been living here since then by getting her long-term visa extended time and again.

Voting was largely peaceful in the second phase of the gram panchayat elections in seven taluks in Belagavi district on Sunday.
In Karoshi Gram Panchayat, supporters of two candidates quarrelled over allegations that they were campaigning in front of the booth, which is prohibited by law. Some of them came to blows with one another and the villagers tried to console them. A police mobile squad arrived on the spot and dispersed the crowd. Polling continued under additional security.

ROCHESTER,Minn- While many restaurants remain closed today, some ethnic ones in The Med City opened their doors for take out and delivery. Although the phone was ringing throughout the day, restaurants such as India Garden were not busy. This is also the first Christmas management decided to open its doors. My business is not very good today, said Shahnaz Begum, an employee working at the restaurant. We are probably gonna get a little bit of business.

A woman died after falling from the rooftop of a building in Dhaka s Kamrangirchar area this morning.
The deceased was identified as Rafeza Begum Rasheda, 35.
Hailing from Madaripur, she used to live in a six-storey building in Kamrangirchar s Roni Market area with her husband and children.
Deceased s sister Shahnaz Begum said Rasheda went to the rooftop with a quilt to dry it in the sun. While she was putting it out on the railing around 10am, a part of the railing collapsed and she fell.
