GLOBALink | Deciphering world s largest aqueduct in central China Xinhua 24 May 2021, 17:55 GMT+10 PINGDINGSHAN, May 24 (Xinhua) The Shahe aqueduct of the middle route of China s South-to-North Water Diversion Project is located in Lushan County of Pingdingshan City, central Henan Province. The 12-kilometer-long project is a major infrastructure in the central route of the water diversion project, with its length, width, size and other parameters all ranking first in the world. It was put into operation six years ago. The beam-typed Shahe aqueduct is with a U-shaped body made of prestressed reinforced concrete. Within the aqueduct, four water channels are arranged in parallel to one another.
