Richard Van Hunt Richard Van Hunt, 67, of Thompson, passed away at SSM Jefferson City on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020. He was born in Beecher City, Ill. on March 19, 1953 to the late Charles Hunt and the late Anna (Becker) Hunt. On Dec. 26, 1987, he married Julia (Kartmann) Hunt who survives his passing. Richard worked for GFG Ag. Farming was his life and primary interest. He could always be counted on to offer his knowledge and words of wisdom in order to help other farmers improve their practices. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed horseback riding and camping at Shawnee National Forest. He was very social, loved to visit, and never met a stranger. Richard was a member of Crossroads Cowboy Church.
