KARACHI: Imran Khan Senior and Imran Tahir did well with the ball while Khushdil Shah and Rilee Roussouw had a fine day with the bat as Multan Sultans downed holders Karachi Kings by 12 runs in their first game of the Abu Dhabi leg of the HBL PSL 6 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium on Thursday night.
This was the second win for Multan in the event from six games.
Chasing 177, Kings needed 23 off the last over from Imran Khan Senior. But the Test discard right-armer did well as he conceded just ten runs and also removed Thisara Perera (0), Imad Wasim (0) and Qasim Akram (10) to finish with 3-28 in four overs.
PSL 2021 Match 16: Rejuvenated Kings to Lock Horns With Depleted Sultans
Karachi Kings will face Multan Sultans as both the teams look to move upward on the PSL points table. Karachi can move to the top of the table if they manage to defeat the depleted Multan Sultans, who have had a torrid start to their campaign. Kings have won three of their five matches so far, while Sultans have only registered one victory in their five matches.
Multan will be hoping their new signings, Johnson Charles and Shimron Hetmyer can provide them with fireworks at the top of the order and will be relying heavily on their spin duo of Imran Tahir and Usman Qadir.

Holders Karachi Kings skipper Imad Wasim on Tuesday said that they had seen alarming dew while training at night which created great problems for bowlers, especially spinners.
“The practice which we have done so far the dew we saw one night was very alarming,” Imad revealed during a virtual news conference. I have not seen such dew in Dubai and Abu Dhabi before. It was very hard, especially for spinners, to bowl in those conditions on the first day we practised, he added.
“But the training which we underwent in daytime dew was very little and breeze was blowing,” Imad said. “It s a very complicated thing. We are yet to see,” Imad was quick to add.
