ISLAMABAD: The newly-appointed inspector general of police (IGP), Qazi Jamilur Rehman, visited the house of Osama Satti on Saturday to condole with his family and assured them that justice would be provided as the case was being investigated purely on merit.
IGP Rehman further said that progress on the case would be shared with the family as well as the public, informing the family that services of the five policemen involved in Osama’s killing had already been terminated.

ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court on Wednesday handed over custody of five officials of Islamabad’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) to police for seven days in the Osama Satti murder case.
The investigation officer was seeking 12 days physical remand for the accused persons, however, ATC Judge Raja Jawad Abbas Hassan extended it for a week and directed police to produce them before the court next week. He also informed the court that weapons used in the incident have been recovered along with empty bullets.
He said that a joint investigation team had been set up to probe the incident.
Responding to a query from the court, he said five bullets hit Satti from the back and one from the front. When the judge asked, whether bullet marks were found on the ill-fated car’s seats, the officer replied that he did not notice that and had not taken photographs of the crime scene.

ISLAMABAD. The physical remand of the five Islamabad cops accused of killing 22-year-old Islamabad student Usama Nadeem has been extended by an anti-terrorism court in Islamabad.
The remand extension is for seven days.
The accused policemen appeared in court on Wednesday.
Usama, 21, was gunned down by the police for not stopping his car near Sector G-10.
The investigating officer requested the court to remand the accused for another 12 days. The judge inquired whether the weapons used in the killing had been recovered.
The IO said the weapons and shells used in Usama s killing have been recovered and said a JIT has also been formed to investigate the case.
