The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibadan Zonal Office, on Monday, arraigned one Mary Akerele before Justice Abiodun Akinyemi of the Ogun State High Court 4, Abeokuta, on five counts bordering on stealing to the tune of N35,520,000.
The Head, Media and Publicity, EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, indicated that trouble started for the 46-year-old socialite, who resides in the Aseko area of Idiroko, Ogun State, when the commission received a petition alleging that she collected the said sum in instalments from one Alhaja Abike Oladoja to supply four truckloads of rice from a milling company in Bida, Niger State, but allegedly diverted the funds.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office on Monday, arraigned one Mary Maisirat Akerele on five counts bordering on stealing thirty-five million five hundred and twenty thousand naira (N35,520,000:00).
Akerele was arraigned before Justice Abiodun Akinyemi of the Ogun State High Court 4, Abeokuta.

Two Internet fraudsters, Ridwan Garuba and Adebayo Agbabiaka, have been sentenced by the Federal High Court in Abeokuta for their involvement in fraud.
The convicts were arraigned on separate charges of fraud and impersonation.
They pleaded guilty to the charges.
Following their pleas, the counsel for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Shamsuddeen Bashir, urged the court to convict them.
Justice Mohammed Abubakar subsequently convicted and sentenced Garuba to five months’ imprisonment with effect from the date of his arrest, while Agbabiaka was sentenced to four months’ imprisonment with effect from the date of his arrest.
