Directed by Mohsin Ali Tawasuli, the film features the dapper Shahzad Noor as the main lead who is in love with Ayesha . Other characters revealed to us include actor and filmmaker Shahzad Nawaz as the possible antagonist as the Maharaja of Ghakkarpur.
The fashion film gives us royal vibes and is set in a haveli of sorts with its beautiful arches, fresco walls, royal guards and well-kept horses. It also, obviously, features an array of Sana Safinaz lawn. The men s outfits in the video are all from Faraz Manan.
We definitely sense a building rivalry in the film but we ll know more once the film releases. Sana Safinaz hasn t announced a release date yet.
‘Amnesia’ by Maheen Khan
A bare-branched champa tree held court at the centre of the open-air catwalk. Live jazz music played out. The evenings were balmy, teetering towards Karachi’s tropical summer, the cold winter winds long gone. It was quite the apt setting for a fashion week dedicated to spring/summer trends.
But notwithstanding the elegant surroundings and even Mother Nature pitching in with the right weather, the trends were missing at the spring/summer edition of Fashion Pakistan Week (FPW). A small smattering of collections were inspiring while the rest droned on, usually in a cloud of pastel-coloured bling and, sometimes, downsliding towards the terribly gaudy.
It was fashion week, simmered down, decluttered, honed into an efficient, timely model.
Small but chic, from the illuminated tree in the centre of the courtyard that was fashioned into a catwalk to the live jazz music playing in the background, Fashion Pakistan Week (FPW) had a classy vibe to it.
Coffee and pizza were served in the refreshingly short break in the middle of the shows, eliminating the possibility of fashion fatigue! Not that FPW was fatiguing. The hair and makeup, fumbling on the first day, was much better on this day, opting for the muted, pastel tones that were safe but worked well enough.
