KARACHI: The administrative judge of the antiterrorism courts on Tuesday remanded five foreigners held for allegedly working for the Afghan and Indian intelligence agencies in police custody.
The Counter-Terrorism Department on Monday claimed to have foiled a major terrorist activity in the metropolis by arresting five Afghan nationals for having links with Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security (NDS) and India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
On Tuesday, the investigating officer of the case produced the suspects before the administrative judge of the ATCs to seek their physical remand for interrogation and investigation.

The Counter-Terrorism Department Police killed a terrorist and arrested five others in an intelligence-based operation in Shah Latif Town on Monday, according to the police.
The authorities claim that the apprehended suspects are affiliated with India’s Research and Analysis Wing and had planned targeted terror activity in Sindh.
Early on Monday morning, the CTD officials, headed by CTD Deputy Inspector General Omar Shahid, encircled a double-story house in Shah Latif Town, Sector A/21, and a shootout ensued between the suspects and the law enforcement agencies.

Officials of Sindh’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) gunned down a “notorious terrorist and bomber” and arrested five others, all of whom believed to be operatives of a foreign hostile intelligence agency, during an operation in the Shah Latif area in the wee hours of Monday.
Later, a media briefing was held at the CTD Sindh headquarters that was attended by Information Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, the provincial police chief, CTD Sindh chief DIG Omar Shahid Hamid and Raja Umer Khattab, chief of the Transnational Terrorists Intelligence Group who led the operation.

KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Department killed a terror suspect and arrested five others after an exchange of fire with them which lasted for more than an hour in Karachi s Shah Latif Town Sunday.
CTD in-charge CTD Raja Umar Khattab said the terrorists were present in a building in Shah Latif Town and action was taken against them on a tip-off.
He said that the terrorists had parked a rickshaw in front of the gate of the building which had explosives in its hidden compartments and the men were fully prepared for a major terror activity.
