Operation of South Caucasus pipeline transferred from BP to SOCAR

The process of transfer by BP Exploration (ShahDeniz) Limited of the technical operator of the South Caucasus Pipeline Trunk Line (SCTM) to SOCAR Midstream Operations, which started on 20 March 2020, was successfully completed on 1 August 2021. ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) that this pipeline is one of the four segments of the Southern Gas Corridor intended for the export of natural gas from Azerbaijan through the territory of Georgia to Turkey and Europe. According to SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev, after 6 years of successful commercial operation of SCTM, SOCAR will undertake the technical operation of this gas pipeline. This is another great achievement of SOCAR in managing the international gas pipeline.

183 bn cu m of natural gas extracted form ACG

02.08.2021,11:53 August 2, Fineko/abc.az. Since the commissioning of field block Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) 183 bn cu m of natural gas have been produced until 1 July 2021. ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Ministry of Energy’s data on oil & gas extraction in Azerbaijan for Jan-Jun 2021 that more than 145 bn cu m of gas were extracted from the start of commissioning of Shah Deniz gas condensate field until 1 July. During this period about 98 bn cu m of gas extracted from Shah Deniz field were exported.

More than 567 million tons of oil extracted from ACG and Shah Deniz

Since the commissioning of oilfield block Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli and the Shah Deniz gas condensate field until 1 July about 567 million tons of oil (together with condensate) were produced. ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Ministry of Energy’s data on oil & gas extraction in Azerbaijan for Jan-Jun 2021 that 535 million tons of crude oil were produced from ACG and about 32 million tons of condensate from Shah Deniz. Since the commissioning of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli and Shah Deniz fields until 1 July of this year about 567 million tons of oil (together with condensate) were exported.
