GREATER NOIDA: Sharda Hospital will continue to function as a Covid facility following talks with the district health department. The hospital which had demanded a non Covid status in the absence of adequate number of patients with majority beds empty, has however sought permission to operate other medical services.
The hospital on December 15 had written to the district administration and the state government, wanting to start non Covid treatments.
“We have been told by the district health department to continue as a Covid facility as vaccination and treatment related to Covid-19 is still not over in the district. We are still having majority beds vacant with only 33 patients till Tuesday. Over 300 beds out of the total 400 Covid beds in use are vacant currently,” said Dr Ajit Kumar, spokesperson Sharda Hospital.
