Lower Hermosa fire causes $90,000 in damage A fire that broke out in a house on Avenida Cresta in La Jolla’s Lower Hermosa area May 23 caused about $90,000 in property damage, but no injuries were reported. San Diego Fire-Rescue Department crews knocked down the fire around 5:25 p.m. Authorities said it started in a bedroom and spread to the attic. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to those two rooms. The cause of the fire is undetermined. Artist Eimear Campbell has a free and atmospheric approach to landscapes

BELFAST-based Fermanagh artist Eimear Campbell has both photography skills and a way with a paintbrush. Working primarily on canvas using acrylic paint as her medium of choice, she creates stunning landscape art using rich colours and bold brush marks. Recently venturing out as a full-time artist and photographer, Eimear has plans to develop her work into larger-scale pieces, to really showcase her artistic style. Here she talks to The Impartial Reporter about her artistic background, her favourite project, to date, and what art means to her. What is your artistic background? MY ARTISTIC interest began at a young age; I was always creating art, and in school I was one of those pupils who never left the art department!

Middletown Teens Who Saved Kids In Icy Pond Given $7,500 Award

(Provided by Kelly Walsh Day) MIDDLETOWN, NJ Remember these young men? The five Middletown teen boys who jumped into a frozen pond this past December and saved two little kids in a sledding accident will be honored with a $7,500 prize this May. The money is given out by the Russell Berrie Foundation, a Mahwah-based non-profit that gives out money annually to people across New Jersey. Kieran Foley, Joseph Dietrich, Drew Scalice, Ryan Day, and Tyler Armagan all freshmen at Middletown High School North will be awarded the money in virtual award ceremony on May 7.
