‘My Big Gay Italian Wedding’ returns: Here’s how to see the show

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Wedding bells will ring this month as “My Big Gay Italian Wedding” resumes live performances in New Jersey.
After being shutdown for more than a year due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Avenel Performing Arts Center will host live productions of the show from April 29 through May 8.
The eccentric comedy, written by Grant City playwright/actor Anthony J. Wilkinson, first opened off-Broadway in 2003 at Actors’ Playhouse in Greenwich Village before moving uptown to Theatre Four in the spring of 2004. In 2009, the show moved to the St. Luke’s Theater, where it played until 2015.
Thirteen undergraduates have been named 2021 Outstanding Graduating Students at the University of Maine.

Freeform has a new head of casting.
As part of Disney s continued realignment to focus on content groups, Lindsey Kasabian has been named senior vp casting for the younger-skewing basic cable network. The former vp casting at Touchstone TV/Fox 21 will continue to report to Sharon Klein, who this week was promoted to exec vp casting at Walt Disney Television.
Kasabian will work in tandem with Freeform president Tara Duncan on all talent for ongoing series and pilots at the cabler. She started the new role this month. She replaces Elizabeth Boykewich, who departed Freeform earlier this month after a 16-year tenure working in casting and talent relations.
