As Cole County school districts apply for the most recent COVID-19 relief funds, each district plans to use the money in different ways.
On June 17, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education submitted the application to the U.S. Department of Education required to receive Missouri s allocation for the American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief fund, often referred to by DESE as ESSER III.

The Jefferson City School District Board of Education will vote Monday on whether to approve nine contracts.
The board is expected vote on health and special services contracts with Access Interpreters, Columbia Interpreting Services, Weeks Orientation and Mobility, Hood Vision Services, deaf educator Laura Scott, Lifesong for Growth and Wellness, SSM Health St. Mary s Hospital, and Specialized Education of Missouri.

Jefferson City School District announces district’s new chief financial officer
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Shari LePage is expected to start the position next month.
She will replace CFO Jason Hoffman after he announced plans to retire.
“We are very excited to welcome Shari LePage to JC Schools and cannot wait to have her on our team,” JC Schools Superintendent Dr. Larry Linthacum said. “Her comprehensive knowledge in operations and financial management makes her the perfect person to take on this important role.”
She previously worked for the State Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
