PLYMOUTH, Minnesota Officials with the City of Plymouth say that cleanup after Sunday s train derailment is expected to go into the summer.
According to the Plymouth Police Department, a Canadian Pacific train derailed just before 1 p.m. Sunday near Northwest Boulevard and Schmidt Lake Road. Officials say 22 train cars went off the track.
During a press conference, Plymouth Police Chief Erik Fadden said there were no injuries but there is significant damage to the track.
Fadden said a number of the train cars that were derailed were carrying molten sulfur, but no leaks have been found, therefore no evacuations will be made at this time. Officials with Canadian Pacific say molten sulfur is used to make asphalt.
