Akash named Tigers kits partner for Windies series

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) named Akash as the national cricket team (men’s) Kits Partner for the home series against West Indies.
Akash is the pioneer of Direct to Home (DTH) digital satellite service in Bangladesh. It is a brand of Beximco Communications Limited.
Satellite service provider Akash DTH was earlier the national team sponsor for the home series against Zimbabwe, which was Bangladesh’s last International series before the Covid-19 outbreak.
A by-product of Beximco Group, Akash DTH was also the title sponsor of the special edition of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20, which was dedicated to mark the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

DHAKA, Jan 10, 2021 (BSS)âWest Indies became the first International team to arrive in Bangladesh since the Covid-19 outbreak when a 38-member contingent reached in Dhaka today.
All of the West Indian players, who were called up for the Test and ODI squad arrived together, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials said.
The Caribbean side will play two Tests and three-match ODI series, which will be Bangladeshâs first International series in the pandemic time.
The Covid-19 already had a direct effect on the tour after West Indies fast bowler Romario Shepherd, who was part of the touristsâ ODI squad, returned a positive result in Guyana prior to their departure. Keon Harding, the 24-year-old Barbados fast bowler was named as Shepherdâs replacement, making it nine uncapped players in the 15-man ODI squad.
Tigers head coach Domingo to arrive next week

DHAKA, Jan 2, 2021 (BSS) Tigers head coach Russell Domingo is set to return to Bangladesh next Friday, just two days before the national team starts its training session for the upcoming home series against West Indies.
Domingo left the country after the Bangabandhu T20 Cup to spend his Christmas holiday with his family.
However two coaches of Bangladesh coaching staffs trainer Julian Calefato and head of physical performance Nick Lee have already arrived in Bangladesh today.
Along with Doming, pace bowling coach Ottis Gibson and fielding coach Ryan Cook will also return to the country.
