DeLand, FL – Registration is now open and required in order to be part of the Volusia County Schools (VCS) Summer Food Service Program. The program provides meals to children during the summer at no charge through the USDA Summer Food Service Program and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Since school ends Friday, June 4, there’s a gap between the end of the regular school year and the start of summer programs. You must register by tomorrow, June 3, to be eligible for a June 8 curbside pickup. Register at vcsedu.org. The distribution times are from 6:30 to 7 a.m. Students attending VCS Summer Programs in-person will receive their breakfast and lunch meals at no charge at the school they are attending.
