John “Jack” O. Ely John “Jack” O. Ely, 84, of Superior, died of Lewy body dementia and Parkinson’s disease, Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living, Proctor, MN. He was born August 30, 1936 in Superior, son of Jarvis O. Ely and Alphild C. (Swanson) Ely. Jack proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy for over 7 years. On December 1, 1989 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Superior, John O. Ely and Arlene R. Corbin were united in marriage. Jack worked many years for the U.S.P.S. in the Superior office, retiring as a postal clerk. He enjoyed trap shooting, handguns, archery, building and flying model airplanes, fishing and hunting.
