Lucapa Diamond Company (LOM) and its partners have sold a rough diamond parcel for US$5 million (roughly A$6.3 million) from its Lulo alluvial mine in Angola
A rough diamond parcel of 4000 carats was sold for roughly US$1239 (around A$1579) per carat
This sale excluded seven high-value diamonds, including two pink diamonds, which have been put aside for a later sale
This brings the total 2021 rough diamond sales from the Lulo mine to US$14.5 million (around A$18.6 million), or $1557 (roughly A$1999) per carat

Debswana Diamond Company a joint venture between Botswana government and Anglo American’s De Beers is going into full swing to ensure that their new business strategy adopted last year is yielding desired results.
The Debswana Executive Management recently took the media through their strategy and how they have started to implement it. The strategy is anchored in restructuring of mines and improving efficiencies throughout the group’s operations.
First to take the cue was the General Manager for Jwaneng Diamond Mine Koolatotse Koolatotse who briefed the media about the transition of the Cut 9 expansion project from Majwe Mining Joint Venture (MMJV) to Debswana Diamond Company. A 3617-carat parcel of rough diamonds sold for US$420 per carat (roughly A$543), totalling US$1.5 million (around A$2 million)
This brings the total average diamond price achieved across the three sales from Mothae this year is US$936 (around A$1206) per carat
