When Labour swept back into control in Hull in May 2011 we declared that we would not be passive observers to government-led managed decline in our city.
As the Tory/Lib Dem coalition government stripped funding away from the city and council and cancelled housing investment, Labour decided to harness the remaining economic power of the city council and our ability to work in partnership with different sectors to attract different inward investment in infrastructure and jobs growth.
