Whitley Neill gin production heads to London 16th February, 2021 by Nicola Carruthers Halewood Artisanal Spirits has moved production of English gin brand Whitley Neill from the West Midlands to London. Whitley Neill founder Johnny Neill at the City of London Distillery Whitley Neill gin was previously produced at a distillery outside Birmingham in the West Midlands. Production was moved to Halewood’s City of London Distillery – the first distillery to open in London’s city centre in more than 200 years – last month (January). James Stocker, marketing director, Halewood Artisanal Spirits, said: “Over the past couple of years we have been dedicated to growing our distilleries, enabling us to produce the best possible range of quality, artisanal spirits with provenance.

Whitley Neill debuts watermelon and kiwi-flavoured gin 10th February, 2021 by Nicola Carruthers Halewood Artisanal Spirits has expanded its Whitley Neill gin range with the launch of a limited edition watermelon and kiwi flavour. Whitley Neill Watermelon and Kiwi is the brand’s latest limited edition offering The new expression has notes of watermelon sorbet, zesty lime and ‘tart tropical citrus notes of kiwi’, followed by a finish of liquorice root and piney juniper. The Watermelon and Kiwi bottling is available to buy from Tesco. Halewood and the UK supermarket chain have partnered on a promotion that will provide shoppers who buy a 700ml bottle of Whitley Neill Rhubarb & Ginger with a free 5ml sample of the new flavour.

Manchester spirits brand Zymurgorium bolsters sales team Spirits and liqueurs brand Zymurgorium has kicked off 2021 with two new appointments to its sales team.  Peter Wells and Joe Worthington will lead the sales team and help the distillery achieve its growth plans for the year ahead. Based in Irlam, Greater Manchester, Zymurgorium conducts its distilling, bottling, warehousing and office functions on one site. It employs 18 people and has a portfolio of 30 products which are stocked by companies including John Lewis, JD Wetherspoon, Greene King, Master of Malt, and wholesalers Matthew Clarke. Peter joins the company from Halewood Artisanal Spirits, where he worked as a sales director and was invovled in the growth of the Whitley Neill gin range. Prior to this he worked with whisky brand Whyte & Mackay.
