Inquest finds baby from Haringey who died was unlawfully killed

stock image A baby girl who died from a serious head injury after being found unresponsive at her home was unlawfully killed, a coroner has ruled. Healthcare professionals were concerned about 10-week-old Lily-Mai Hurrell Saint George being discharged from hospital and into the care of her parents, an inquest at St Pancras Coroner’s Court heard on Monday. Police said there was insufficient evidence to charge either or both of her parents – Lauren Saint George and Darren Hurrell – in connection with Lily-Mai’s death. Lily-Mai died at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London on February 2 2018, after being found unresponsive by her parents at their home in Belmont Road, Haringey, two days earlier.

Letters: Covid and NHS, LTNs and trees versus housing

Readers letters Frontline staff member Champa Jetha, acute therapy technician at Whittington Hospital - Credit: Slater King We need you to stay at home and save lives Siobhan Harrington, CEO, Whittington Health NHS Trust, writes:  I am writing to you to give your readers the latest information about how Covid-19 is affecting Whittington Health NHS Trust, as I have tried to do throughout the pandemic. Like the rest of the NHS across London, Whittington Health is experiencing real pressure as a result of a rapid increase in Covid positive patients. It is once again heartening to see that as my colleagues work so hard, lots of you have been in touch to ask how you can help us. To them and to everyone I say that the most important thing we can all do is to follow the national lockdown rules: stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.

Shame on Whittington Health Services

Shame on Whittington Health Services I, like I m sure many, people read PATIENT PARKING ONLY ALL PATIENTS MUST REGISTER THEIR FULL AND CORRECT VEHICLE REGISTRATION VIA THE CONSOLE LOCATED IN THE HEALTH CENTRE TO RECEIVE 2 HOURS PARKING I can only think of one reason that the sign was designed in such a way so as to make the parking permission very visible, but the condition so much less likely to be noticed. Failure to notice the condition results in an £85.00 fine. One expects no better from Euro Car Parks, but I d expect more from Whittington Health Services.  The local team must at the very least be aware of this issue and they have apparently taken no steps to rectify it.
