Isle of Wight man threatened to smash Ryde beach bar windows | Isle of Wight County Press

HAVING been refused entry into a seafront restaurant in Ryde, an Isle of Wight man threatened the owner with smashing all its windows, a court was told. Samuel Chisholm Bohn, of Mill Lane, Newport, admitted making a threat to damage or destroy property on April 19. He threatened Karl Harding with damaging windows belonging to his business, Harbour House beach bar and grill, on Ryde Esplanade. He attended Harbour House with a group of others and caused problems being verbally abusive towards Mr Harding s staff, said Liz Miller, prosecuting, at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court. Bohn and his group were refused entry onto the premises due to the Pub Watch ban on him. The incident was captured on body worn video, worn by door staff.

AN ISLE of Wight man who attacked five different women one of them a police officer was given the benefit of the doubt by magistrates after he failed to keep probation appointments in the preparation of a report to help determine whether or not to jail him. Alan Cassford admitted six charges of assault by beating, one of common assault and five of causing criminal damage. The offences took place between January 11 and March 1. Cassford, of Daniel Street, Ryde, turned up at court having missed a string of appointment opportunities with the Probation Service in the preparation of a pre-sentencing report, to allow Island magistrates the opportunity to assess whether he should be imprisoned or punished in some more lenient way.
