It’s been a real joy getting to play songs from Travis Linville’s upcoming album, I’m Still Here on WMOT. He’s a much sought after writing and musical collaborator in his native Oklahoma. The new album was recorded partly in Nashville and was produced by JD McPherson, featuring collaborations with Hayes Carll, as well as fellow Oklahomans John Fullbright and Jacob Tovar. He wrote the title track with The Highwomen’s Natalie Hemby and the song “Feeling We Used To Know” was written by a former bandmate some twenty years ago.

Orange Blossom Revue is pleased to announce the addition of Blackberry Smoke to its 2021 lineup. The Atlanta based rock titans will co-headline the 7th annual festival alongside critically acclaimed folk duo The Wood Brothers, joining The Steeldrivers, Hayes Carll, Devon Gilfillian, Nicki Bluhm, and more. A staple of the southern music canon, the seven piece ensemble will celebrate their 20th anniversary this year with a new album You Hear Georgia to be released May 28. The outfit will return to central Florida this winter, bringing their dynamic sound and larger-than-life stage presence to the scenic grounds of Lake Wales the weekend of December 3-4.

What a deep album full of top notch songs and musicianship. I’m Still Here is due May 21st via Black Mesa Records.

Hayes Carll was in the middle of a performance last week when he managed to sum up what many musicians and fans have been feeling for months.
“I tell people for the first four years of my career and for the last 16 months of my career, I’d finish a song and nobody clapped,” the Texas songwriter said, as midnight neared and cool winds blew into the open-air Truman Waterfront Park Amphitheater in Key West, Florida. “In between, I had a pretty nice run where people clapped. So, it’s nice to hear that applause again.”
