Vale and United Steelworkers (USW) Local 2020 have reached a new contract.
This comes after office, clerical and technical employees at Vale’s Sudbury operations rejected a tentative agreement on March 30, but went back to contract talks.

The four-and-a half-year deal takes effect on April 1. It replaces an agreement that expired on March 31.
Other details about the agreement were not released.
“The negotiation process has been both productive and respectful, and we are encouraged that we have been able to reach an agreement that the bargaining committee fully endorsed,” said Sherri Hawkes, president of USW Local 2020-05, said in a release.
