Pinewood Studios has revealed their support as a Government scheme has been launched to help 16-24-year-olds who are unemployed. The Kickstart Scheme is an initiative aimed at combatting long-term unemployment for young people, a section of society hit particularly hard by the Covid-19 pandemic. It will provide funding to create six-month job placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit, and following its introduction last year, more than 20,000 people have been in work through the scheme, with Pinewood being one of a number of organisations taking part. Minister for Employment Mims Davies MP said: “Pinewood Studios is putting our young people centre stage, helping them break into the UK’s world-renowned TV and film industry through the Kickstart Scheme.
