VAN WERT – The Board of County Commissioners of Van Wert County, Ohio, met in regular session in the office of said Board on the 11th day of May 2021, with the following members present: Mr. Stan D. Owens, Mr. Thad Lichtensteiger, and Mr. Todd D. Wolfrum.
The following proclamation was made:
Whereas, in 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a Proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week; and

It’s not often that teenagers get to see first-hand what could happen when they drive recklessly or are negligent.
Fortunately, the fatal rollover accident Lincolnview High School students viewed Friday afternoon in the school parking lot which also resulted in serious injuries and one student being life-flighted wasn’t real. But Middle Point Fire Chief Craig King said something similar definitely could happen if students are distracted, drink and drive, and take other risks while driving.

WERT COUNTY It appeared to be a grim scene. A unit from the Van Wert
Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, deputies from the Van Wert County
Sheriff s Office, first responders
from the Middle Point Fire Department and EMS, and even the Van Wert County
coroner and Mercy Health Life Flight gathered to render assistance
to victims of a rollover crash on the parking lot of Lincolnview Local

Patrol investigating fatal crash on U.S. 30

MIDDLE POINT – On April 4, 2021, at approximately 9:48 p.m. troopers
with the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a
report of a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 30 near Mile Post 20 in Washington
Township, Van Wert County.
A 2015 Freightliner semi, operated by
Glen Anderson, age 66, of Rochester, Indiana was traveling eastbound on
U.S. 30. A 2008 Chrysler van, owned by Jeffrey Brown, age 44, of
Delphos, Ohio was disabled and parked on the right berm of eastbound
U.S. 30.
Mr. Anderson’s semi traveled outside its lane of travel
