Anteris Technologies Ltd (ASX:AVR) (OTCMKTS:AMEUF) (FRA:DDF) is aiming to revolutionise the transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) space with its up-and-coming heart valve technology.
In an annual general meeting on Thursday, chairman John Seaberg spoke to investors about Anteris’ mission to create durable, effective heart valves.
Following a busy 2020, when the company’s 3D, single-piece aortic heart valve moved from concept to product status, Anteris is eager to spend the coming years achieving the regulatory milestones necessary to get its technology to the market.
Essentially, this means closely working with the Food and Drug Administration to secure a range of approvals, moving the product into more human clinical trials and advancing an early feasibility study.

Anteris Technologies Ltd s (ASX:AVR) Wayne Paterson speaks to Proactive following the company s AGM.
It s recently achieved a breakthrough in manufacturing the tissue used in ADAPT® treated products from bovine pericardium, after developing specialised machinery to create consistently thin tissue through an innovative processing technique. It s important to me to get the point across that the product is coming to market , he says. There s no speculation around whether we will develop a product or whether that product will get there . It s now moving into its FDA studies and will be into its regulatory approval studies for commercialisation .
Bart Buchanan holds back tears as he recalls the first bicycle ride he took with the Scottsboro Tri Sport Athletic Club, taking a route, down South Broad Street in Scottsboro, the same route that would take the life of his friend, Dr. Wayne Patterson III.
Patterson was killed while riding by a vehicle on Tuesday morning, June 29. He was 65.
âI rode with that group, and it was some of the best times of my life,â said Buchanan. Buchanan credited Patterson with getting him involved in riding. He also said Patterson was always there for him.
âWhen I was going through a really hard time, he was one of the few people to call and check on me,â said Buchanan.
